Rain in Greater Taipei couldn't wash away high spirits as the six candidates fanned out across Greater Taipei for the final push.

Former Vice President Wu Den-yih, stumping in New Taipei, called on the party to remain united. He promised to support Saturday's winner and said that if he won, he would seek counsel from each of the runners-up.

Meanwhile, ex-Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin held a campaign concert at Liberty Square in front of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. He was joined on stage by former President Ma Ying-jeou, who praised Hau's mayoral tenure.

Ma experienced confidence that the unprecedented six-way race would not ultimately tear the KMT apart and promised to support whoever won in order to facilitate reform and pave the way for the party's return to power.
